  • 2. How long does it take to build my new home with Boss Homes?

    The construction process typically takes between 6-12 months, depending on the complexity of the design, access to the site, legalities and permits, along with the weather conditions (amongst others).

  • 3. Do I need to obtain building consent, and what is the process?

    No, we fully manage this for you. It's all part of the service with Boss Homes. We will obtain building consent from your local council before commencing any construction.

    The process involves submitting your building plans and specifications to the council, who will then review and approve them. The council will also conduct inspections during the construction process to ensure compliance with the Building Code and relevant regulations.

    We handle all of this for you and liaise with the council entirely on your behalf.

  • 4. Can I build a sustainable and eco-friendly home?

  • 5. Can I come and see my house being built?

  • 6. What are the benefits of building a new home versus buying an existing one?

    Building a new home offers many benefits, including the ability to customise the design and layout completely to suit your needs.

    Our clients often have a preference for a kitchen to be a certain size or placed in a specific location on the property. With a new build, you can do this easily whilst ensuring your new home adheres to the latest energy efficiency standards to save you on heating and lighting bills once you move in.

    Modern amenities such as USB charging sockets and RGB lighting throughout the property are also very popular additions and easy to include in a new build.

  • 7. Can I choose my own materials and finishes?

    Yes, we offer a range of materials and finishes for you to choose from. Our team can also work with you to source any specific products you would like too. Such as a Miele kitchen suite, RGB lighting options and even Electric vehicle chargers, to name but a few.

  • 8. Can I make changes once construction has started?

    Usually you can, but it does depend on what you would like to change.

    Minor alterations and any non-structural modifications are typically straightforward and can be accommodated through a variation to the original New Build Contract/Agreement. However, this may necessitate the drafting of new plans.

    On the other hand, more substantial changes involving structural components will require revision to the plans approved by local Council. Any changes to plans that have been approved by local Council will likely result in construction delays due to the re-approval process and will incur extra expenses.

    Timing is also an important factor to consider. In some cases, the item may have already been ordered or delivered to site, or the onsite work may have advanced to a stage where accommodating the requested change is not possible.

  • 9. What kind of after-sales support do you offer?

    We provide a comprehensive after-sales service, including a 10-year Master Builders Guarantee, maintenance support, and a dedicated customer service team to address any concerns or issues that may arise.

  • 10. What warranties and guarantees do you provide?

    We offer a comprehensive 10-year warranty on all our new homes, which covers defects in materials and workmanship. This is our 10-Year Master Builders Guarantee. We also provide a 2-year warranty on all appliances and fixtures. Additionally, we are members of the Certified Builders Association of New Zealand, which provides an independent dispute resolution process in the unlikely event of any issues arising for your complete peace of mind.
